Jolo turns 9 today….

A few days back and in preparation sa mga gusto nya sa birthday nya, eto ang mga sinasabi ni Jolo sa Inay nya: - Pili pili sya ng cake and he wants his picture on it, asking Wena to pre-order the cake at baka daw matagal gawin hehe, eto naman sis di nakinig so kahapon lang nag order ng cake. It seems Jolo is right, so wala picture yung cake nya… As today is his birthday, don’t know which one of his wishes will come true. Anyway, they will have a small celebration this evening. Happy 9th Birthday Jolo M…. We love you…and be good….

Jolo on missing the three kids…

Vince, Ally & Ian are still in Cavite. I just called Wena’s place and have the following conversation with Jolo: Me: Hi Jolo, Tita ‘to, happy birthday!! Me: na mi-miss mo ba sina Vince? Jolo: si Ian lang…. Me: eh bakit di mo miss si Nini & Vince? Jolo: makulit kasi yung dalawa na yun….. Me: si Ninison di mo miss?? Me: eh si Vince?? Me: kaya nga, tapos di mo miss….

Get together....

Image
As agreed we had a little get together at home. This is to partially celebrate our Wedding Anniversary / my birthday and at the same time have some JES friends came over for the first time. Though a bit late on the date..still it's better late than never daw, di ba? heniwey, the dinner / party lasts until mid night. Siempre di mawawalan ng kantahan, pataasan daw ng score. Ang saya din... For the menu, I asked someone to cook for me and I prepared some dishes. All in all, it's an enjoyable get-together...

House Renovation Day 37

Image
Progress photos sent by Wena : Terrace slab was casted and upper wall almost complete. Window grill installed (we ask them to revise and install at least one escape route for safety reasons). Ground floor room already partitioned / finishing in progress. At this rate the roof will probably be installed before end of the month.

Tid bits...

What has been happening - - naiinip sa office, wala magawa every day - kids still in Cavite, ayaw daw muna umuwi...ay ewan... - Inay / Itay canvassing/comparing price for aircon unit, cooking range - We decided to add-in other finishing works for the house contract re: all flooring & paint job - Adie celebrates his first birthday - Attended a JES get together, and decided that the next one will be our turn (come 19July) Yan lang po....

3 Day Diet...

We tried the 3-day diet that i have found in the net. It works on food chemical combination daw. It's a bit of sacrifice kahit na it's only three days lalo na if you like to eat out. Well after the 3 days, Labs lost 2-3kg and me?! well, did not even shed 1kg, humupa lang ako ng konti...pulos water retention lang yata yung sa akin e...sus... So now the next step in losing weight??...buy a treadmill??

House Renovation Day 28

Image
Progress photos sent by Wena : As finally the partition and stairs layout satisfies both the oldies, about 100 hollow blocks were demolished to re-do the final partitions. Patay tayo sa change order dyan hehehe… Here’s the new layout:

House Renovation Day 25

Progress photos sent by Wena : Second floor wall and stairs in progress. There’s some discussion on the partition/layouts fort the four rooms on the second floor and the stairs location. Looks like some minor demolition will be done to accommodate the changes.

House Renovation Day 20

Image
Progress photos sent by Wena : Looks like the 2nd floor column / slab has been casted. Contractor works so fast as it’s only day20 of the 90d contract. We’re all happy it’s going fast. We are thinking about the rainy season that will slow down the construction but on this fast phase, the roof will soon be installed and will help a lot for work continuity when the rain comes…

Wedding Anniversary

Our 6th church wedding anniversary. Mamya pala mag 10 years na kami, imagine we were married in civil ceremony for 8 years this December. Flight back to Singapore. Such a short trip….. And Happy Father’s Day to all padirs….. Specially ke AMA….

St. Benedict Monastery

Image
Went to San Jose for some St. Benedict medallions. Columns footings will be cast tomorrow and as normal “erehiya”, we have to put something on the footing daw. Normally the following will be casted together with the footing: - Asin (don’t know for what) - Asukal (don’t know for what) - Benditadong palaspas (probably for blessing) - Coins (for prosperity, of course…I’ll put in Singapore dollar coins para times 32 hehe) - and most people say this St Benedict medallions as St. Benedict pala is the patron saint/protector of the house So, have to drive to San Jose and buy about 50 small medallions for the ten columns. As it is, diretso na rin kami sa Robinson Lipa for some lakwatsa specially the kids.

Dito pa rin sa bayan ng ala-eh…

House Renovation – Demolition Starts & Saying Goodbye to the Old House

Image
Demolition starts today, I have mix feelings because the ancestral home is really really old…. This is the house that has been in my grandparents possession as far as I can remember, granted there were so many additions / renovations done but I still remember this house with the ground floor only done in bamboo slats as walls, flooring as rough cement, a rectangular heavy wood dining table that’s really is so big that more often being borrowed by neighbors during wedding receptions, with chairs what we called “bangko”. I remember all of us cousins / aunts / uncles at one time or another have lived in the house. All the ‘apos’ eating on the same big table. There’s Belen always falling asleep during dinner; there’s Mamay making an egg shape out of sinangag so some of the smaller kids will have the motivation to eat. There’s a big basket hanging over the table where Nanay keep the fruits and bread. This is the house I remember having an old style wood chair on the second floor as sala set...

House Renovation – Moving Out

Image
Today is moving out day.... After searching for temporary place to stay during house construction, they've found the perfect place: - not too crowded - not much worries on kids probably going out to the streets - quiet place - cheaper rent - same area location as the old house And now they have to move and settle down.... Specially the kids, who will probably find it strange at first...
