I was on leave…

Yap, on leave ako ngayon and I feel good. Gumising ako ng 9.30am, nag ligpit ligpit tapos nag breakfast lang then nag start na mag-bake ng chocolate chip cookies. The recipe was taken from forwarded emails about someone who felt she was cheated by Famous Amos Cookies, well I didn’t know if the story is true but the taste of the cookies is the same as the original Amos cookies. So every now and then basta me extra time ako I always bake them….

Natuloy din ang paglipat nila sa bagong bahay,. Nitong nakaraang tatlong araw e linis at lipat sila ng ibang kagamitan sa bagong bahay. At kanina nga madaling araw e lumipat na sila, siempre kumpletos rekados sa mga parapernalya gaya ng asin, tubig, bigas, ilaw, at kung ano ano pa para daw sa magandang buhay sa bagong bahay… Alas diyes ng umaga, sinundo ang pari para sa blessing ng buong bahay. Simple lang seremonyas, at sila sila lang pamilya ang naroon. Naghanda ng kiriroy o tutong yata iyun (tsalap nun ha)…. Ganun lang ka simple…..para sa simpleng buhay…. Hay salamat at natapos din…. Next adventure, filling-up the house with new things as the old things seems out of synch somehow….

Hagya nang nakaupo....

Sunday and as usual chima-a-a ang role ng lola...ngayon lang ako naka upo at naka sulat dito. Pero tuwa naman ako at nakatulog ako ng husto kaninang umaga, 10am lang naman ako bumangon... Dami ko ginawa today, linis room, palit beddings and towels, linis bathroom, cook lunch, do filings, pick up clothes for recycling and at the same time separate those not being used but still new and will sent back home. Naka luto na rin ako ng para sa hapunan at sisimba daw kami ni kumander by six pm. Nakapagbake pa ko ng bread pudding, ayos din parang custard cake....almusal din yun sa opis bukas.... So sign off muna ko at still have a bit to do before going to church....

Leaving Home for the kids Future…

Is this always the case for most of the families back home, willing to suffer being away from each other so the kids will have better future?? As it is my brother in law will leave tomorrow for Libya on a commissioning job. He has resigned on his permanent post as supervisor in the process industry near our place to earn more. His earnings on the local job, though not that minimal is not enough for the increasing expenses of kids going to school and at the same time managing the everyday living expenses aside from house mortgages. Such is the life of middle class earner back home. And such are the cases of continuous giving-up of permanent positions and good pays to go out of the country and earn more, at least earn enough to have all the basic necessities covered up….. What’s really sad to know is that my nephews will probably grow up without their father’s guidance.
